UGANDA: WEST NILE TO GET POWER SOON [ELECTRICITY]

West Nile will soon boast of new power sites and renovated hospitals. President Yoweri Museveni , meeting leaders from the region at his Rwakitura home on thursday, assured them that his government was committed to the developement of the region. A source said Museveni told the civic and political leaders that the Government would develop power in west nile and renovate Yumbe, Moyo and Nebbi Hospitals, among others no mention of arua &. koboko hospials in particuller. Museveni was responding to a memorandum red by LC5. Chairperson Richard Ferua calling for the speedy developement of the nyagak, and olewa power stations, tamacking of the remaining major roads and the long awaited granting of district status to okolo in Nebbi. the president urged his officials to mobilise the population in the fight against poverty. the delegation, led by the Chairperson of the West Nile parliamentary groups and state minister forfinance [GENERAL DUTIES] Jachan Omachi, comprised MPs, local council Chairpersons, resident district commissioners and NRM special Interst groups. all opposition MPs boycotted the meeting. apart from marachas Alex Onzima who crossedto the movement.
