ZABIBU Maneno, a roast meat vendor in Arua town, has won sh1m in the “Bonga na Coke” sales promotion. “I roast 10 kilos of chicken everyday but the money is not enough to pay fees for my four children,” Maneno said.

She lauded Century Bottling Company, the maker of Coke products for initiating the promotion.

She promised to use the money to expand her business.

Chris Oloya, the Coke northwestern regional sales manager, said sales had increase in the West Nile region following the launch of the promotion early last month.

“We have sold over 100,000 crates compared to 65,000 crates sold within the same period last year,” he said.

He said over sh50m had been given out to winners across the country.

To be eligible, participants buy Coke products and check under the bottle liners for instant prizes.

Oloya said three people had won sh1m each, while several others scooped cash prizes ranging from sh100,000 to sh400,000.

He said they were honoured to be making changes in people’s lives through the promotion. The promotion runs through December.
